What you need to take to the branch

Types of Businesses

Sole Proprietorship

  • SSN of owner who will sign on the account
  • Fictitious Name Registration, also known as Trade Name Registration, Certificate of Assumed Name, Registration of Alternate Name, or Assumed Name Registration (if applicable)

Partnership

  • EIN Verification - copy of first page of previous year's tax return or IRS Letter SS4
  • Partnership Agreement - informal or formal based on type of partnership
  • Fictitious Name Registration - also known as Trade Name Registration, Certificate of Assumed Name, Registration of Alternate Name, or Assumed Name Registration (if applicable)

LLC

  • EIN Verification - copy of first page of previous year's tax return or IRS Letter SS4
  • Articles of Organization
  • Fictitious Name Registration, also known as Trade Name Registration, Certificate of Assumed Name, Registration of Alternate Name, or Assumed Name Registration (if applicable)

Corporation

  • EIN Verification - copy of first page of previous year's tax return or IRS Letter SS4
  • Articles of Incorporation
  • Fictitious Name Registration - also known as Trade Name Registration, Certificate of Assumed Name, Registration of Alternate Name, or Assumed Name Registration (if applicable)

Unincorporated Association/Organization

  • EIN Verification - IRS Letter (SS4 form) for banking purposes only
  • Charter/Bylaws authorizing account opening
